At Pahalgam the outside vehicles are not allowed to do the local Sightseeing of Aru, Chandenwari & Betaab valley, hence we have to hire a union cab from Taxi Union.
At Sonamarg, the vehicle is allowed to go up parking place. To reach snow glacier, one has to hire pony/horse on direct payment basis.
At Gulmarg the vehicle is allowed to go up to parking place. To reach Gondola (ropeway) ride, one has to be hire pony/ horse on direct payment basis or walk approx half a kilometer.

WHEN TO GO
April to October: Summer. Temperatures can vary between 14 to 30 degree Celsius, sights are simply breath-taking at this time of the year.
July to September: Monsoon. It might get a bit chilly for your liking, so do come prepared with enough warm clothes as well as waterproof raincoats and umbrellas.
November to March: Winter. If you love the cold weather and don’t mind crunching through the snow in boots, then indeed, this is the best time to visit Kashmir for snowfall.

Local cuisine: Mughal Darbar is one of the best restaurants in Srinagar known for offering some great Kashmiri cuisine

- Shop for exquisite Kashmiri handlooms and Pashmina shawls and local garments called Ferins.
